Thanks to previous leaks, it had been known for a while that The Banner Saga developer Stoic Studio was collaborating with Xbox Games Studio on a new project, and at the recent Xbox Games Showcase, that was formally unveiled as Towerbornea new co-op action-adventure title featuring gorgeous 2D art.

Following its announcement, at the Xbox Games Showcase Extended presentation, Microsoft showcased the game once again, this time with members of its development team talking about what players can expect from it. Check it out below, courtesy of IGN.

Towerborne is going to be a social experience, and a central hub named Belfry will be a location that players will be returning to frequently, where, among other activities, you’ll also be able to customize your character.

Meanwhile, new details were also revealed on the game’s combat, which will allow players to be flexible and creative with their combos, especially when working in harmony with other players, while the developers also touch on the game’s gorgeous 2D art style, which combines its 2D aesthetic with 3D movement from a sidescrolling perspective.

Stoic Studio also says Towerborne is going to be extensively supported following its release. The game will adopt a seasonal mode, and players can expect frequent drops of new content and updates of varying scale.

Towerborne is due out sometime in 2024 for Xbox Series X/S and PC.
